FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Fayetteville police arrested a girl on greater than 30 counts of cruelty to animals.
Morgan MacDonald, 72, was arrested on 18 counts of aggravated cruelty to canine, cat or horse and 17 counts of cruelty to animals after a grievance was made at her place of residency.
MacDonald had inherited a “feral cat rescue” in October 2023, she instructed police she didn’t need to give any of the cats up as a result of she didn’t need to upset her late buddy.
On Feb. 14, police stated once they arrived at her residence the place they seen some cats appeared malnourished, had bother strolling and had mucus round their noses and eyes.
Police described a robust odor of cat urine and feces within the affidavit.
A “small Yorkshire terrier-type canine” was described as having a major damage to its entrance leg and a big hairless patch on its again.
Police stated they noticed two cats in cages with none water or meals. MacDonald stated there have been extra cats in cages as a result of they had been very aggressive and would assault different cats.
Police arrived with a warrant on Feb. 15, the place they discovered 18 cats with higher respiratory infections, two cats had FIV, the feline model of HIV.
The responding officer stated he didn’t see any cat meals however massive bowls of uncooked floor beef and shredded cheese and a big bowl of rotten curdled milk. MacDonald stated the cats like rotten milk.
Police took 34 cats and one canine from the home. They’re now being handled on the Washington County Shelter.
MacDonald’s bond is pending.
