On Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, the Paris Excessive Faculty VEX varsity robotics group, often known as “Violent Squirrel,” showcased their distinctive abilities on the Miller Grove Ice Bot event, rising victorious in a surprising show of expertise and innovation.
Going through stiff competitors, the group, led by their formidable robotic “Nut Chunker,” swept the competitors, securing all three high awards. Amongst these have been the Glorious award and the Expertise Champion title. Teaming up with Terrell HS, they overcame the formidable alliance of Greenville HS / Commerce HS to clinch the event championship.
This season has been a testomony to the group’s dedication and prowess, boasting a powerful report of 49 wins and seven losses throughout six tournaments. Their achievements lengthen past victories, having garnered a complete of 9 awards.
The success of the Violent Squirrel group wouldn’t have been attainable with out the beneficiant assist of their sponsors, together with Paris ISD, Sonic, Harrison Walker and Harper, the Thompson household, Taylor Glass, TaMolly’s, former robotics alumni Charles and Grant Taylor, Central Presbyterian Day Faculty, and the unwavering dedication of their group mother and father.
